Sleeping Angel, 2015

About

Another work belonging to the series Between what is human and what is lifeless. In this case, the statue of an angel serves as pretext for a painting. It symbolizes an inner search, in a state of rest and dreaming. In addition, it is intended to provoke a disjunction between its inert character and its living appearance. It is built with a very saturated range of ochres, which is reminiscent of Caravaggio's chiaroscuro. The light that is cast upon the angel enhances spiritual concerns in a somehow fantastic atmosphere.
